Welcomed five university students from Cairo, Egypt. They chose to stay in a motel, depending on us for program and transportation. They attended church with us, enjoyed visiting our homes, and shopped.
Hosted two separate guests from Germany. Hosted visitors from Lebanon, Germany, and Korea who were traveling with PTPI’s International Visitors Program. Four members attended the Americas Regional Meeting in Las Vegas. Donated $250 to Project Triumph, which brings Israeli and Palestinian youth together in Los Angeles. Three members hosted a guest from Germany. Six members hosted seven adults from Poland and Germany. Sent clothing to a PTPI chapter in Colombia.
Sent a donation of $700 to a special Romanian project. Received a chapter membership award of $250 from PTPI. Homestay for a guest from London. Two members attended the European Council meeting in Interlaken, Switzerland. Two members joined a PTPI delegation to Prague and Berlin. 2004 – Homestay for a guest from Berlin, Germany.
Homestay for two young women from Tokyo, Japan. Three members attended the Regional Council meeting in Las Vegas. Homestay for a guest from Italy. Homestay for a guest from Holland. Five members attended the Worldwide Conference in Baveno, Italy. Prepared and sent a package for Operation Iraqi Children. 2005 – Held "1000 Nights" dinner in cooperation with Northridge United Methodist Church to raise funds and awareness for the Halo Project. We had a guest speaker. 126 persons attended and the event raised $3529. Hosted a diplomat from the Embassy of Uzbekistan under the program called Meet the Diplomat. PTPI encourages participation in a wide variety of programs that advance Peace through Understanding. Local chapters, such as PTPI LA, are made up of volunteers in communities worldwide who support these PTPI programs and participate in unique activities locally while reaching out at the international level.
